Fear is everywhere.
It’s gotten to a point where I distance myself from social media and anywhere I’m able to read other people’s thoughts on all types of subjects. Fear is prevalent throughout those discussions.
People fear failure. We also fear taking risks. No risk, no reward though. And your self-confidence takes a huge hit deep down. You try to find other ways to make you feel adequate. Relying on external entities to help build your self-esteem is a huge red flag, by the way.
It takes a great deal of self-awareness to realize this. Courage is the antidote.
Let’s start with the bad news, which is that fear isn’t going anywhere. You’ll always fear something, because who goes through and masters everything in the world?
The good news is using fear can catapult you to new heights. You have two options when presented with fear; you either run away from them and die a thousand deaths or conquer it and build your armor.
When you conquer a fear, you learn from it. You’re able to take what you learned with you to the next roadblock. If you don’t conquer it and hide, you’ll feel inadequate. Empty.
No matter the track record, you can start today. When you feel intimidated by a task, remind yourself of who you are and the things you’ve overcome.
